Our story
SEÑA is a leather goods house born in Madrid, creating objects for those who share the journey with their animals.
THE ORIGIN / A QUESTION
It began with a simple observation: animals are increasingly part of our everyday lives. They travel with us, enter hotels, sit at our feet in cafés and cross cities and borders by our side. Yet many of the objects used to travel with them still follow the traditional codes of pet accessories.
We asked why.
Why should an animal’s document holder look like a veterinary product? Why should a carrier announce what it is at first glance? Why can the objects we carry together not belong to the same design world as our luggage, wallets or bags?
SEÑA was born from those questions.

That territory
is our calendar.
The story
SEÑA begins in Madrid and looks towards the Spanish-speaking world.
We understand this as an extraordinarily diverse territory: connected by shared cultural histories, yet formed by profoundly different cities, landscapes, materials, crafts and ways of living.
Each year we present three editions connected to three places across this territory. Every destination becomes a point of departure from which to observe architecture, light, materials, crafts and contemporary life—and translate them into the language of SEÑA.
We do not seek to reproduce a place literally. An edition is not a souvenir. It is our interpretation of what we find there.

Madrid is
the beginning.
The first edition introduces our Travel Document Holder: a piece conceived to hold a companion animal passport and the documents we need when travelling together.
From there, the journey continues.

A different way to produce
Our model also shapes how we want to make.
We work through The Register, a community of people who want to discover future destinations first and receive priority access to their editions. The Register helps us understand demand before production and work in controlled series, refining quantities and reducing the risk of unnecessary inventory.
For the same reason, SEÑA does not hold seasonal sales to clear excess stock. We prefer to produce less, understand demand more closely and preserve the value of the pieces we put into circulation.
When an edition ends, it enters the SEÑA Archive, where it remains documented as part of the history of the house.
SEÑA RED EDGE / HOUSE CODE
A SIGNATURE THAT TRAVELS
A fine line connects different places.
Places change. Pieces evolve. Materials, colours and collaborations may change too.
Certain codes will remain.
One is the SEÑA red edge: a fine line that accompanies our pieces from one edition to the next and connects different places.
In time, we want that line alone to be enough to recognise where an object comes from.
